Ellen was born in Wheatley Hill in Co. Durham on the 5th of July 1948. The year the NHS was born. The family moved to the new town of Peterlee, then to Murton. I met Ellen on a blind date, which is thanks to Pauline and Sid. We married on the 14th August 1971 and were happily married until Ellen sadly passed away on the 8th February 2008. Some people would say we were always arguing, Ellen would say only when people stir it or cause trouble. She would then say Yes we argued but think of the making up. I have not only lost my wife, I have also lost my best friend and soulmate. The only love I ever had or ever will have.
